Who we areWe are an English language Protestant Church in the Presbyterian tradition. The congregation was originally formed in 1643 from the large Scottish community of merchants, seamen and soldiers then living in Rotterdam Ð hence the name. The church has maintained its connection with the Church of Scotland, but the congregation is truly international in its make-up. Based in the heart of the city, it aims to serve the needs of the people of many nationalities and different denominational backgrounds living in Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague and other towns in the south-west of The Netherlands, with many travelling a considerable distance to worship.
What we have to offerRegular WORSHIP SERVICES take place on Sundays at 10.30 a.m. After the service there is time for fellowship over coffee and tea in the Lower Hall. HOLY COMMUNION is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month and is open to all who love Jesus. MUSIC plays a prominent role in our church life. Besides the organ and the piano, various other instruments also regularly feature in services. The church also has four CHOIRS: the main choir, the Joyful Singers' (with a distinctly African repertoire), Sonrise and Sounds of Glory (youth choir). We cater for all age groups. We have an active SUNDAY SCHOOL and YOUTH GROUP, as well as a CRÉCHE. There are various BIBLE STUDY and FELLOWSHIP (HOME) groups. Adjacent to the main church building is the CHURCH CENTRE which houses the church office and the attic. The Church is WELL EQUIPPED to cater for people with disabilities. Recordings of the main service are also available for those unable to attend. Schiedamsevest 121, Rotterdam
