International United Peace Service 2017

Annual Peace Service

International United Service for Peace 2017 on 12th November 2016.

The service starts at 19:30, entrance is free.

It is exactly 92 years ago that the Scots Church Rotterdam started this tradition. It involves ministers, priests or pastors from various international and migrant churches coming together for a service for peace. Each of the clergy will speak, pray or read from the scripture in their own language, like Russian, Finnish, French, Amharic (Ethiopia), Trigray (Eritrea), Urdu, English and more.

Address by Caecilia van Peski, Member of the Board of the Interchurch Peace Council.

What happens to our plastic waste?

On Tuesday 17th October at 19. 30 there will be a presentation and film by SUEZ in the lower church hall.

(SUEZ/SITA is the biggest recycling company in Rotterdam and surroundings; collecting, sorting and processing waste into useful products.)

If you have any questions on the subject you can ask them or even bring along any plastic refuse that you ask yourself into which container should it be deposited!

This will be a very interesting evening and many have already shown interest so, although the evening is free, tickets  (on recycled paper) will be available in advance.

Eco-friendly Church

On Monday 25th September the solar panels (all 48 of them) were installed on the church roof.

They are already reducing our electricity bill!

A special thank you to the Energy Team and all in the congregation who contributed to make this possible.
